EPAC’s Kids 4 Kids opens ‘Willy Wonka Jr.’ with help from parents

Jane Holahan, Lancaster Online

Words and Music by Leslie Bricussse and Anthony Newley
Adapted for the Stage by Leslie Bricusse and Timothy A. McDonald
Based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr. is a Kids4Kids musical production based on the beloved book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. When poor Charlie Bucket finds himself in possession of a golden ticket, he and his Grandpa Joe get the chance of a lifetime. During their tour of the famous chocolate factory, Charlie and Grandpa Joe travel through Mr. Wonka’s world of pure imagination. But they’re not the only ones on this exclusive tour! The other four winners are gluttonous Augustus Gloop, spoiled Veruca Salt, gum-expert Violet Beauregarde, and TV-obsessed Mike Teavee. It turns out this tour is more than just a PR stunt, as Mr. Wonka has a secret agenda. The five children will be tested on more than just their sweet tooth. They’re in for a dangerous adventure through a wacky and unexpected world!

“Alright everybody, gather ’round. The Candy Man is here” with some exciting news: EPAC is holding its own Golden Ticket Contest! Purchase a Miesse chocolate bar at our concession stand for a chance to find a golden ticket and win a Miesse Candy Factory tour, half a pound of chocolate, and perhaps even a free ticket to a 2018 EPAC Main Stage show! There will be one lucky winner from each performance, and all of the Golden Ticket Contest winners will be entered for a chance to win one free week at the Ephrata Performing Arts Center Youth Camp. Take a break from the chewing gum and grab a chocolate bar instead. It just may be your lucky day!

Join the fun at EPAC and watch Charlie and Grandpa Joe navigate this wonky world!
